Your PinSeeker Skill Index is calculated using a proprietary algorithm that considers DTPs from your most recent cash tournaments. The better you perform, the lower your index.
Skill indices range from 1 (highest skill) to 36. Every new player has a Skill Index of 28 by default, until he/she plays in 3 cash tournaments. These indices are used to flight tournaments so that you can play against other players with a similar skill level. For more information on flights, see What are PinSeeker flights?
You can find your skill index next to your picture on the Account page or on tournament leaderboards.
Go to your Player Profile on the app and click on the skill index number next to your profile picture or the "Skill Index" menu in the "Account Settings" section to see a detailed breakdown of which qualified tournament entries contribute to your skill index calculation.
Skill index FAQs
Is my skill index based on my tournament results, or CTP performance?
Your competitive results do not factor into your skill index! That is, winning (or losing) tournaments does not impact your skill index directly. Only your CTP distances are considered.
Obviously, the closer you're hitting it to the pin, the better your skill index, and the more events you'd expect to win.
Is my skill index pegged to other players, like a ranking? Is it a zero-sum game?
Skill index is not a peer-to-peer rating system (like an Elo rating)! Just because a player's index improves, does not mean another player's must get worse. Your index is independent from other players.
We reserve the right to occasionally tune our algorithm to keep things balanced, but the algorithm will not consider other player performances in its calculation.
Which shots matter to my skill index?
Our algorithm only considers your best DTP for each cash event. If you hole out and shank the rest of your shots, you will get "credit" for an ace.
